New Champion Crowned At RAW Main Event

The women of WWE's red brand continue to make history, and with that, another title switch on RAW occurred.

Sasha Banks defeated Charlotte in the main event of RAW live from Charlotte, North Carolina to win te RAW Women's Championship. The match was the first ever Falls Count Anywhere match for the Women's Championship to main event Monday Night RAW.

The match was first held earlier in the show, but it ended with a double count-out. RAW General Manager Mick Foley then announced the match would be restarted at the end of the show, but with the added Falls Count Anywhere stipulation.

Charlotte and Sasha Banks had a physically grueling match that involved kendo sticks, moonsaults off the top of the RAW announce table and Banks locking the Banks Statement on Charlotte while Charlotte was in the guard rail dividing the stairs among the crowd.

The women's division of WWE had been dominated by Charlotte and Banks, whom each has held the Women's Championship at least three times in 2016 alone. Banks last had the title at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, where Charlotte defeated Banks in the first women's Hell in a Cell match in WWE history. It is also the first time two women closed a WWE pay-per-view in the company's history as well. Sasha first won the Women's Championship shortly after the WWE Draft earlier in the summer.
