SmackDown Tag Team Champions The New Day are going to be competing in a non-title match on tomorrow's SmackDown.
WWE announced that The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Big E) will face Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro on the December 20 episode of SmackDown. The New Day are coming off a big win over The Revival in a ladder match at WWE TLC to retain the titles.
This is not the first time that these two teams will wrestle each other on SmackDown as The New Day defeated Cesaro and Nakamura to retain the titles in late November. Since then, Cesaro and Nakamura were able to pick up a win over Heavy Machinery on the December 13 episode of SmackDown.
Following a successful title defense at WWE TLC, The New Day will face Shinsuke Nakamura & Cesaro in a non-title match.
In the first edition of this matchup, the Intercontinental Champion & The Swiss Cyborg answered the champions’ post-Thanksgiving open challenge, but a well-timed Trouble in Paradise carried Kofi Kingston & Big E to the victory. Can Sami Zayn’s stable put The New Day on notice, or will the champions continue their dominance?
