New Day Was Asked To Restructure WWE Deals

On Saturday, it was reported that Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, known as New Day, had departed WWE. It was reportedly a mutual decision between the two parties.

Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer reported, “We can also confirm that in the case of New Day, it was their decision to leave based on what TKO was offering for a new deal. To be specific, New Day’s deals were not up. They were asked to restructure to TKO deals, they didn’t like the deals, so they were then granted their release.”

Fightful Sean Ross Sapp has since confirmed the news of New Day being asked to restructure their deals.

Kingston had been with WWE since 2006 while Woods joined in 2010. New Day was formed in 2014.

In other news from the situation, the duo does have a 90-day non-compete. Fans can learn more here.
