Matt Cardona is officially the champion of Digital Media.
After years of being the self-proclaimed Internet Champion, Matt Cardona is now a recognized Digital Media Champion under the umbrella of IMPACT Wrestling. Cardona defeated Jordynne Grace on the episode of IMPACT Wrestling that aired on February 3.
Cardona turned heel to do it as he distracted the referee with the title belt before nailing Jordynne Grace with a steel chair.
This marks the first time that Matt Cardona will be able to wear a recognized championship belt representing the world of digital media, which he helped pioneer as Zack Ryder. Cardona did, in a recent tweet, poke fun at WWE recognizing his Internet Championship in a recently released book chronicling WWE championships through history.
