The finish saw Bailey kick Austin, who entered the bout as champion, off the cables, leaving him alone to get the title.

This marks the first reign as IMPACT X-Division Champion for Bailey. Austin won the title at IMPACT Rebellion. His reign lasted 58 days and included three successful title defenses as well as representing IMPACT as the X Division Champion in the NJPW Best of the Super Juniors tournament.
