The new champion is coming to Wrestle Peter Pan.
There is a new IWGP World Heavyweight Champion in NJPW, and his name is Zack Sabre Jr. He became a two-time champion when he bested Hirooki Goto in the semi-main event of NJPW Tanahashi Jam.
Sabre Jr. had Goto trapped in an armbar at the backend of their 28-minute bout, and the referee ended up stopping the match to prevent further damage.
It was soon announced by the DDT Pro-Wrestling promotion that Sabre Jr. is coming over to participate in day one of their Wrestle Peter Pan event on August 30th. The show is taking place at Higashin Arena in Sumida, Japan.
Sabre Jr. last wrestled for DDT at their 'April Fool' event in 2024, where he teamed with Chris Brookes.
