The finish saw Adonis lock JTG in the Master Lock. JTG was initially able to fight out, but Adonis maintained his grip and forced JTG to his knees. It looked like JTG was about to pass out when Fred Rosser came out and told the referee to stop the match.

The referee obliged, awarding the match and the belt to Adonis. When questioned by Trevor Murdoch as to why he wanted the match stopped, Rosser said he was saving JTG so he could fight another day.

Adonis vacated the title on the May 25 episode of NWA Powerrr to enter the battle royal to determine the next challenger for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship. No champion was allowed to enter the battle royal, but Adonis gave up the belt for the betterment of Strictly Business. He earned a match for the vacant title by defeating Thom Latimer and Parrow in a triple threat match. JTG earned his spot by defeating Fred Rosser and El Rudo.
