New Women's Tag Team Champions Crowned On 9/12 WWE Raw

And new.

Just weeks after losing the finals of the WWE Women's Tag Team Title Tournament, Dakota Kai & IYO SKY have redeemed themselves. On the September 12 episode of WWE Raw, the Damage CTRL duo defeated the team of Aliyah and Raquel Rodriguez to capture the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles. This is the first time that either woman has held the belt, although both women have held the NXT version of the belts.

Kai and SKY were able to capture the belts after SKY took out Rodriguez with a moonsault on the outside. This allowed Kai to hit her finisher on Aliyah, who would be pinned shortly after.

As previously mentioned, Rodriguez and Aliyah won the belts back on August 29 after defeating Kai and SKY in the finals of the tournament. The belts were vacated back in May after then champions Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out on the company. The titles remained vacated over the summer until a tournament to crown new champions was announced in August.
