New WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Crowned On 5/14 SmackDown

It is never too late to keep fighting for your dreams.

On the May 14 episode of WWE SmackDown, Natalya and Tamina challenged Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax for their Women's Tag Team Titles. This is not the first time they have faced off with the belts on the line, previously fighting on Night Two of WrestleMania 37.

Tamina and Natalya earned their way back into the title picture by defeating the champions multiple times in singles action in the weeks following their loss. Ahead of their SmackDown opportunity, Bret Hart Tweeted out his support for his niece and her partner.

The match was predominately dominated by the reigning champs who were able to isolate Natalya. The challenger's fortunes began to turn after Reginald was ejected from ringside. Natalya was able to make a tag soon after, unleashing Tamina on Shayna Baszler. The match would continue and eventually come to an end after Nia Jax delivered a Samoan Drop to Natalya, only to get hit with a Superfly Splash from Tamina instantly after hitting the mat. Tamina promptly pinned Jax and scored the victory for her and Natalya.

This is Tamina's first major Championship win in WWE. As for Natalya, this is her third title reign and belt. She previously held the Divas and SmackDown Women's Championships.
