New York Giants Player Dalen Cambre Gives Firsthand Account Of Cam Skattebo-WWE Appearance, Says Skattebo Was In No Danger
New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo was in attendance for the November 17th episode of WWE Raw, getting involved in the action during a commercial break.
Skattebo was confronted by Judgment Day members Finn Balor, Dominik Mysterio, and JD McDonagh, leading to a skirmish between Skattebo, comedian Andrew Schultz, and other members of the New York Giants.
Many fans and pundits were upset over Skattebo’s appearance and the physical nature of the segment as the rookie is sidelined with an ankle injury that will keep him out for the rest of the season.
Dalen Cambre, who was sitting behind Skattebo on Raw, gave his account of things.
“We had guys literally right behind him. We didn’t know exactly what was going to happen, they just said be behind Cam. There’s no way he could have fallen back, and he couldn’t have fallen forward either because they had the railing there. You could tell they were acting, it was all rah-rah, they made it look like they were mad but they really weren’t,” Cambre told the New York Post.
He continued, “They told us they were kind of getting in the face of the comedian [Andrew] Schultz next to us, then they’re gonna push Schultz down, and then Cam’s gonna put his arm out and stand up, and then they’re gonna get in Cam’s face and Cam’s gonna push him,’’ Cambre said. “And they said Cam stands up, we just all stand behind him and have his back.
“They kind of gave Cam a push but nothing meaningful enough and with power behind it. It looks like it but we had guys right behind him, it looks like it’s coming from all over the place but it’s really not coming with any power or any force. I don’t think it was a real shove, he definitely pulled a LeBron [James] or a fake fall or something like that.’’
Skattebo addressed the incident on social media, saying he was having a good time while dealing with a tough time.
Giants interim head coch Mike Kafka said he trusted Skattebo. You can find his comments here.
