Nia Jax Comments On If She Believes WWE's Female Superstars Will One Day Compete In Saudi Arabia

Nia Jax shares her thoughts on the controversy that hovered over the 'Greatest Royal Rumble' event.

As WWE's 'Greatest Royal Rumble' event in Saudi Arabia drew closer it was pointed out that none of WWE's female superstars were going to be featured on the card.  Laws and traditions in Saudi Arabia that have to do with social gatherings or events much like the 'Greatest Royal Rumble' do not allow for women to be around non-kin men and is extremely rare if it happens. Companies in Saudi Arabia would even have to go the extra mile of creating an all-female environment if they were to hire women. For those who were seated in the front row of the event they had to have a one female in their party to attend.

The Elite: We're Getting AEW Back To What It Was Supposed To Be

During the 'Greatest Royal Rumble' event, there was an ad that aired on the titantron which featured some of WWE's female superstars. This led to the Saudi Arabia GSA issuing an public apology to those in attendance for the ad that was shown.

"The General Sport Authority would like to apologize to the viewers and attendees of last night’s WWE event that took place in Jeddah, over the indecent scene involving women that appeared as an ad before a segment. It would like to confirm it’s total disapproval of this, in the shadow of its commitment to eliminate anything that goes against the communities values.

The authority has made sure to ban showing of any segment that involves women wrestling or any scenes related to it, and stipulated that to the company (WWE). The authority also disapproved any promotional stuff with pictures or videos showing women in an indecent way, and emphasized on commitment of this rule. And it’s a commitment that the authority would still commit to forever in all of it’s events and programs."

A number of WWE's female superstars noted over social media that they have hope that one day they will be able to compete in the country of Saudi Arabia. One of those competitors is the RAW Women's Champion Nia Jax who spoke on if she believes that the women of WWE will one day compete in Saudi Arabia in an interview with Jim Varsallone of the Miami Herald.

"I think so, I believe so. Its something that’s going to take time, we can’t change it right away, and WWE is really good at bridging gaps and I feel like the world of wrestling and entertainment is a general language." Nia stated. "Everybody loves it because they love the entertainment that we bring. So I believe that its something… Its gonna take time, but I would never say never. I definitely believe something is on the horizon."
