Nick Aldis Open To Wrestling Again Under The Right Circumstances
For the first time in three years, Nick Aldis returned to the ring at WWE SummerSlam, taking on Gunther.
Aldis has spent the last three years as the SmackDown general manager, but was viewed as one of the top independent wrestlers prior to joining WWE. Fans questioned why he was put into the general manager role despite still being active in the ring and holding the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship two years prior to his hiatus, but he has received high marks for his work as the GM.
Speaking to Sam Roberts on WWE Now after SummerSlam, Aldis was asked if his return at SummerSlam was a “one and done.”
“I don’t know. I came in with no expectations, and I come out with none. If it’s there, it’s there,” he said.
Asked if he wants to wrestle again, he said, “Sure, in the right circumstances, yeah.”
Though Aldis lost to Gunther, he was embraced by his wife Mickie James and their son after the match.
Elsewhere during the interview, Aldis revealed when he found out about the match with Gunther. You can find his full comments here.
