Nick Aldis Pitched To Wrestle Great Muta And Jushin Liger At ROH-NJPW G1 Supercard At MSG

Nick Aldis had big plans for himself ahead of ROH-NJPW G1 Supercard.

ROH and NJPW invaded Madison Square Garden during WrestleMania weekend 2019 and though he wasn't associated with NJPW at the time, Aldis tried to get on the card against one of two Japanese legends.

"I'm a huge fan of Muta and have worked for him in Wrestle-1. I pitched (me vs. Muta) for the ROH/NJPW Madison Square Garden show, obviously, they passed on that. I also pitched me against [Jushin Thunder] Liger," said Aldis on Battleground podcast.

Aldis was not part of the ROH-NJPW G1 Supercard, though he did work with ROH throughout the year as part of their partnership with NWA. Aldis also ended up getting a moment with Great Muta at WrestleCade.

"At WrestleCade, it was just presented to us. Sonny Onoo was handling Muta's stuff and thought it would be cool. It was really just a shot across the bow. He knows where I am, we can make it happen, just gotta make the price right, Muta," he said.

Aldis has been away from the ring during the COVID-19 pandemic, but is set to return to the ring on September 15 as part of the United Wrestling Network pay-per-view series. It is unknown who Aldis will be wrestling at the event.
