Nick Jackson: “I Think The Ship Has Sailed On" CM Punk Going To AEW

CM Punk heading to AEW might not happen after all, at least according to Nick Jackson of The Young Bucks.

Speaking over the phone with the New York Post, Jackson spoke about the possibility of the former WWE Champion coming to AEW. Jackson did not say much regarding the matter, but he did say that he thinks Punk heading to AEW isn't something that's going to come to reality.

?I think the ship has sailed on that one," Jackson said.

Although rumors and speculation over Punk returning to wrestling have been present for years after his departure from WWE in 2014, talks ramped up when AEW was formed. Punk told ESPN during the summer that AEW texted him offers, but not much came from it.

The latest round of news regarding Punk is that he did on-camera testing for WWE Backstage, WWE's upcoming studio show on Fox Sports 1. Though Punk has played coy in recent interviews when asked about the report, he finally broke the news that he did, in fact, meet with Fox for the show, but insisted that he isn't going to WWE to wrestle.

Triple H recently said "never say never" when it came to Punk potentially returning to WWE when asked about. Since his departure from WWE, Punk had a pair of fights in the UFC and even did commentary for Cage Fury Fighting Championships among a number of different projects he's been a part of.
