Nick Wayne talks maturing in the world of pro wrestling.
At the age of 16, Nick Wayne would be offered an AEW contract that would kick in once he turned 18 and finished high school. Since turning 18, Wayne has been a common face on AEW and ROH programming, but before that, he was a staple of the US independent scene as a teenager.
While speaking on Close Up with Renee Paquette, Nick spoke about maturing while in the wrestling industry, stating that he feels like he matured faster than a lot of kids his age.
"Yeah, I'm very thankful for it. Honestly, I feel like kind of just like a maturity level. Yeah, it helped me a lot just growing up always being around adults. Yeah, so like kids, obviously, I went to public school. So I was still around kids. But my day to day life was around wrestlers and wrestling, you know, so I feel like I just matured a lot faster than like a lot of the kids my age. Going back to what you're saying, I do definitely feel like I'm like, a man, you know, sometimes it's like a reminder to me when people say my age, like, 'oh yeah, I am 19."
Wayne is currently a member of The Patriarchy alongside Christian, and is currently in Japan competing in the Best Of The Super Juniors tournament. You can read more about that here.
