Nick Wayne Wants To Wrestle Amazing Red And Kota Ibushi, Hopes To Be A Part Of The Next BOLA

Nick Wayne talks about his goals in wrestling outside of AEW.

It is already known that Nick Wayne has an AEW contract that will officially go into effect once he turns 18. However, the wrestling world is currently thriving and Nick Wayne has plenty of goals outside of making a splash in AEW. Speaking to Eric Novak on the All Real Wrestling Podcast, Wayne noted that some of these goals include wrestling in PWG, compete in the New Japan Pro-Wrestling, and wrestle icons like Kota Ibushi and Amazing Red.

Konosuke Takeshita: I'm Craving Your Belt, MOX

Regarding a trip to Japan, Nick said, “That's probably my top go right now an independent wrestling is within the next 11 months, to be able to do a tour with DragonGate, NOAH, or DDT. That is definitely my goal right now and GCW is going to Japan very soon, as they announced. I'm really hoping to be a part of that tour with them. But, to be a part of a very big Japanese promotion, if I could do a tour with them, that'd be crazy.”

I think, a big one right now, someone I'm very influenced by is Amazing Red. Red is one that I am very influenced by. I'd love to share the ring with him. Dragon Lee is another one, he said. “A very big one that I think will be like a huge stretch to get and also kind of referring to your question about me doing a tour in Japan. [Naomichi] Marufuji is one that I study almost every day. Marufuji's work, he's just like so incredible in the ring for like the years and decades he's been doing it. Hopefully, at some point in my career, I’d love to wrestle Kota Ibushi.”

Lastly, he also notes that he wants to work in PWG and potentially be part of the next Battle of Los Angeles Tournament. He does, however, also have his eyes on another tournament, the NJPW Best of Super Juniors Tournament.

“PWG is one that I haven't performed for yet, but I'd absolutely love to. PWG introduced me to a majority of the independent wrestlers I know now. PWG is a promotion I started watching when I was eight years old and I had a wrestling student at my dad's school that would get us the full shows. I would watch these full shows and just be mind blown by the stuff that these guys were doing. And so yeah, PWG introduced me to a lot of people I know now know. So I definitely love to do PWG at some point, maybe even participate in Battle of Los Angeles next year, that would be really cool," said Nick. “Destination-wise for the future. I would love to spend some time in New Japan Pro-Wrestling. A very big goal is to compete in the Best of Super Juniors, that's a very big goal of mine.”
