The former Nikki and Brie Bella release a statement allegations against Vince McMahon and their step-father John Laurinaitis.
On January 25, a lawsuit was filed by Janel Grant against Vince McMahon, WWE and former executive John Laurinaitis. The lawsuit accuses McMahon of sex trafficking, emotional abuse, and sexual assault. McMahon has denied the allegations.
Laurinaitis is the step-father of The Garcia Twins (formerly The Bella Twins). He married their mother, Kathy, in March 2016.
The Garcia Twins released the following statement on the allegations:
We are shocked and disheartened with the recent allegations against members of the WWE. It has been a lot to process since we found out this past week just as you all did. This is something we don't stand for or condone from anyone no matter who they are. We want all women to feel safe and supported in the workplace and in their everyday lives.

In March 2023, the Bella Twins announced that they had departed from WWE, dropping Bella from their name to go by Nikki & Brie Garcia.
Laurinaitis was terminated by WWE in the summer of 2022 and was investigated by the WWE Board in relation to sexual misconduct and hush money allegations brought against McMahon in June 2022.
