Although their engagement inevitably fell through and both are now married to different people, Nikki Bella thanked John Cena for helping her along in her career during her 2020 Hall of Fame acceptance speech.
While both Brie and Nikki were thanking individuals who helped them along and their journey including Mark Carrano, Dusty Rhodes, John Laurinaitis, their stepfather, and Pat Patterson, Nicole said the following about John Cena, whose last name she did not say.
“To John, thank you for teaching me a lot about this business and truly helping me find my Fearless side.”
The twins would conclude their speeches by thanking their children and joking that when they turn 18, they will be entering the family business.
This year appears to be the first year since 2003 that John Cena will not be featured at WrestleMania in an in-ring capacity. Currently, John is filming several projects that, due to the global pandemic, don't allow for an appearance at WrestleMania to fit into his schedule.
