Nikki Bella was hoping to run into AJ Lee at WWE Evolution.
Appearing at ACE Comic Con, Bella was asked about AJ Lee and her part in the Women's Revolution. Bella had nothing but praise for her former foe.
"I was hoping she would be at Evolution," said Nikki. "She was a huge part of the women's division and if she came back, I would love to (wrestle her again). We had good chemistry and I loved what Paige, AJ, Brie, and I...we had a really good story going for a long time. I felt that really helped with the evolution and where it's at today. It'd be so fun."
AJ's last singles bout in WWE was against Nikki on March 16, 2015. AJ and Paige teamed up to face the Bella Twins at WrestleMania 31.
AJ is widely credited for kick-starting the Women's Revolution with her pipe bomb promo on Aug. 26, 2013. But it wasn't until her #GiveDivasAChance social media movement in February 2015 that truly changed how women were portrayed on WWE television.
WWE Evolution takes place this Sunday, Oct. 28 from Long Island, New York. Fightful will provide live coverage of the event. Nikki Bella is scheduled to headline against Ronda Rousey for the Raw Women's Title.
