Nikki Blackheart reflects on finding out about her WWE tryout in ‘the craziest way’.
Blackheart has had a quick rise through the independents, earning the attention of fans around the world and recently partaking in a WWE tryout.
While speaking to Heavyweight Commentary in a new interview, Nikki Blackheart reflected on the tryout, noting that the call for it came at ‘the craziest time’.
“I will say, you know, I found out about it in the craziest way. I had been just trying to figure out whether or not this was for me. I’m two years in and there’s a lot of people like, ‘I’ve been working for 10 years.’ I’m like, great, that’s good for you. But I like to know what my life looks like, I’m a little bit of a control freak. So I do want to know- is this- am I doing the right thing? Am I making the right decisions? Am I doing everything in my power to be able to achieve my goals, and is there something that I’m missing? How can I fix it? So I’m asking myself all these questions and, you know, it came down to, do I focus fully on my career in sales and, you know, go that route and be absolutely amazing at it? Or do I focus on this and do the same thing and, you know, go the whole way and then be absolutely amazing at it, and, it was one of those things where I’m so invested in wrestling, but I have to be a little bit of a realist. I’m like, is this making sense for me and where I want to be in my future? I kid you not, ended up going to Orlando. I had an opportunity to, participate in a different company and things happen. I wasn’t able to wrestle, drove back the same day. I mean, it was like a, a very, very long day. Um, and then, the next day I get off a call, a sales call. I’m just like sitting down and I’m just like, like, dude, what am I doing? Like, I need to, I need, something’s got to give, like something’s got to happen, and within an hour later, I got the call that there, I had a tryout available.”
