Nikki Cross on how her partnership with Alexa Bliss came together.
The unlikely duo of Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross united over the summer when a calmer version of Cross struck up a friendship with Bliss. The duo went on to win the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles, becoming the best of friends when many believed the partnership wouldn't last.
Speaking to Digital Spy, Cross revealed the two ladies became good friends off-screen, leading to the on-screen partnership.
“It just started off with us getting coffee together, then driving together and travelling together and just basically being on the road together," said Cross. "The story’s start was very much what you saw on screen to a little extent, the way we kind of met and then there were different layers to the friendship and different layers to the relationship explored on television. It was kinda what was basically happening in real life was us coming together and then working together and getting to know each other and getting to find out little things about each other. Basically life imitated art and art imitated life there."
Bliss & Cross lost the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles at WWE Hell in a Cell to the Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane). Bliss is currently sidelined with a shoulder injury. It is unknown when she will return to the ring.
