Speaking with Booker T and Brad Gilmore on The Hall of Fame, Nikkita Lyons was asked to describe how she picks herself back up when these injuries and setbacks happen.

“Honestly, it kind of coincides with the constant rejection growing up in the entertainment industry. While this is more of a physical manifestation within my physical body, I mean it sucks, not gonna lie. It’s painful, and it sucks. I don’t want to sugarcoat and be like, ‘Yeah, everything’s great and dandy.’ No, there’s days where it’s really tough, really difficult, where I don’t want to look at the Internet, I don’t need to do any of that. I want to focus on me. However, every single time I’ve experienced an injury, I’ve always discovered myself even further. I’ve always found different parts of me that are simply just memories because we just come back to who we are. But I always learn so much. It sucks, obviously. I want to be done [laughs], I want to be done now. But stuff happens. It just happens, especially in our line of work. It’s just part of it, and I accept that. Honestly, when I do get hurt, it gives me the chance to be even better. Like, ‘Okay, that version wasn’t strong enough. That version needed some tweaking, needed some work.’ Okay, I’m gonna accept this challenge and I’m gonna come back better than ever," Lyons said.

Lyons also discussed her experience working toward recovery and honing her craft. She made it clear that even when she's not posting about it, she is putting the work in. Lyons also highlighted the importance of being mentally strong.

“Every single day, I report to the performance center, I do my rehab, I do my lifts. I work on my craft, and now what people mistake is, just because things aren’t being posted, yes I post, but I post what I want you to see. The hard work, the blood, sweat, and tears, and all of that, I’m not gonna be posting all of that. But here and there, yeah, just to inspire, that would be the reason to post it. But it’s a grind every single day, pushing through that pain, pushing through mentally. That’s a big thing, too, aside from physically. Being mentally strong, in anything, in any line of work, that’s a huge thing is mental health. So yeah, I think it’s funny seeing some people, just comments make me laugh. People who think they know. But I know I know. I know what I am doing, and I know what I’m gonna do. So it’s just working through it," Lyons said.
