The bout ended up being the longest Best of the Super Juniors final ever, clocking in at 38 minutes and 38 seconds.

There was a long delay in the match as SHO attacked both competitors, hoping the match would result in a no contest. SHO was run off by members of CHAOS and Los Ingobernables de Japon as both men were able to recover and continue.

Hiromu finished atop the round robin standings, going 7-3-1 in the tournament. Hiromu previously won Best of the Super Juniors in 2018 and 2020. With this victory, he will move on to challenge IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion El Desperado at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 16.
