- Jay White won the IWGP Heavyweight Title from Hiroshi Tanahashi in the main event of The New Beginning in Osaka.
- NJPW announced that the winner of the New Japan Cup will face Jay White for the IWGP Heavyweight Title at the NJPW-ROH G1 Supercard at Madison Square Garden.
- Jushin Liger is set to challenge for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title against Taiji Ishimori at the NJPW Anniversary Event.
- Tama Tonga is no longer a good guy.
- Roppongi 3K will face LIJ for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Titles. SHO & YOH attacked Shingo Takagi and BUSHI at The New Beginning in Osaka to set up the match.
- Tenzan wants Iizuka to return to his senses. Iizuka's retirement bout is set for Feb. 21 when he will team with Minoru Suzuki and Taichi to take on Toru Yano, Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Kazuchika Okada.
