- NJPW announced that the winner of the New Japan Cup will face Jay White for the IWGP Heavyweight Title at the NJPW-ROH G1 Supercard at Madison Square Garden.

- Jushin Liger is set to challenge for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title against Taiji Ishimori at the NJPW Anniversary Event.

- Tama Tonga is no longer a good guy.

- Roppongi 3K will face LIJ for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Titles. SHO & YOH attacked Shingo Takagi and BUSHI at The New Beginning in Osaka to set up the match.
