NJPW G1 Climax 36 Card In Hoffman Estates, Illinois To Be Tournament Matches Only
The G1 opening night is going to be tournament matches only.
The opening night of the 2026 NJPW G1 Climax tournament is taking place at the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
It was announced that the card for the July 11th show will be tournament matches only. NJPW sent out the following:
G1 Climax 36 kicks off in the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates IL July 11, the ultimate in pro-wrestling tournaments making its way to the US for the first time since 2019.
G1 Climax 29 opened in Dallas TX with a card that highlighted five tournament matches above four tag team contests.
In recent years, G1 opening night has seen motivation heightened among wrestlers for the tournament ahead, as well as passion from fans at an early fever pitch with cards that consist entirely of tournament matches and without preview tag bouts.
That same opening night passion and competition will now come to the US for the first time in 2026! EVERY matchup in NOW Arena on July 11 will be a G1 Climax 36 tournament matchup as competitors look to set the pace right out of the gates.
Entrants, match card and number of matches on the night are TBD, but an unforgettable night is a guarantee- don’t miss out on the ticket on sale this weekend!
The 2026 G1 Climax will wrap up on August 15th and 16th.
