NJPW New Japan Cup 2021 Finals Set

The finals are set for the 2021 New Japan Cup.

As a result of their respective semifinal victories, Will Ospreay and Shingo Takagi will meet in the 2021 New Japan Cup. Ospreay scored a win over David Finlay while Shingo bested EVIL.

The winner of the tournament will face Kota Ibushi in the first-ever IWGP World Heavyweight Championship bout. That match will take place on April 4 at Ryogoku Sumo Hall at Sakura Genesis 2021.

Shingo defeated Kazuchika Okada, Hirooki Goto, KENTA, and EVIL on his run to the finals. On the other side of the bracket, Ospreay bested Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Zack Sabre Jr, SANADA, and Finlay to earn a date with Shingo in the finals.

Shingo and Ospreay are 1-1 against each other in their careers. Ospreay defeated Shingo to win Best Of The Super Junior XXVI in 2019 while Shingo defeated Ospreay in G1 Climax 2020.

The finals are set to take place on March 21 at Xebio Arena Sendai in Sendai, Japan. The event will air on New Japan World.
