New Japan Pro Wrestling announced that Young Lions Ren Narita and Shota Umino will begin their respective excursions. Umino will head to the United Kingdom to further his training while Narita is off to Katsuyori Shibata's NJPW LA Dojo.
The Young Lion Cup concluded on Sunday, September 22, with both men ending their tournaments on a 5-2 record to tie in second place. Post match, Umino was disappointed at his ultimate loss to Karl Fredericks, but would request to be put on excursion to further his career. His request has been granted, and Umino will head to the UK to begin his excursion.
Narita would appeal directly to Katsuyori Shibata after the cup, and request to join the LA Dojo. Shibata accepted, and Narita will now report to LA. as an LA Dojo Young Lion, Narita will be in action during the forthcoming Fighting Spirit Unleashed tour.
