NWA 74 will feature a rematch from NWA 73.
Almost a year to the day that Trevor Murdoch beat Nick Aldis to win the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship, the two men will square off again. But this time, "The National Treasure" will be challenging for the gold.
Aldis earned a title shot by winning The Race to the Chase tournament. In the finals, which aired on the July 19 episode of NWA Powerrr, Aldis defeated Brian Myers, Mike Knox, and Thom Latimer. The former champion advanced to the finals by beating Tim Storm in the first round.

Meanwhile, Murdoch is in his second reign as the champion. A few months after he dethroned Aldis, Matt Cardona took the title from him at NWA PowerrrTrip in February. Cardona was later stripped of the title due to injury at NWA Alwayz Ready on June 11. That same night, Murdoch emerged victorious in a four-way match that included Aldis, Latimer, and Samuel Shaw to win the vacant title.
The event is scheduled to take place on August 27-28, 2022 in St. Louis, Missouri.
