The NXT Breakout Tournament kicked off on Wednesday night with the television debuts of Angel Garza (formerly Garza Jr) and Joaquin Wilde (formerly DJZ). The bout was won by Angel Garza, putting him into the semifinals of the tournament. The NXT Breakout Tournament is designed to introduce a new crop of competitors to the brand over the next few weeks. Next week, Cameron Grimes (formerly Trevor Lee) will take on Isaiah Scott (formerly Shane Strickland) in the tournament.
Also set for next week will be a one-on-one contest that pits Tyler Breeze against Undisputed ERA member Roderick Strong.
Finally, on tonight's episode, a teaser for Killian Dain aired. The former NXT Tag Team Champion has not been on NXT television since April 2018.
