What a night for professional wrestling.
On a night that WWE's first-ever all-women's PPV commenced and ended with Becky Lynch retaining her SmackDown Women's Championship in a Last Woman Standing match against Charlotte Flair, and Shayna Baszler becoming a two-time NXT Women's Champion, three superstars who are a part of the NXT brand took a trip to EVOLVE and are now heading back to the Performance Center with championship gold as well.
Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins of the Street Profits defeated Chris Dickinson and Jaka to capture the EVOLVE Tag Team Championships. Following up on that was Cruiserweight Classic competitor and current NXT talent Fabian Aichner making his way to the ring at EVOLVE 114 to challenge Shane Strickland for the EVOLVE Championship. Strickland being a fighting champion accepted the challenge but was in for a battle as the two athletes went to war for the top prize in EVOLVE.
In the end it was Fabian Aichner besting Shane Strickland and ending "Swerve's" three month reign as the top dog in EVOLVE and now Fabian Aichner is the new EVOLVE Champion.
As mentioned, the Street Profits left EVOLVE 114 with championship gold around their waists and to read more on that, click here. Also mentioned in the beginning paragraphs of this article was that Shayna Baszler won back the NXT Women's Championship and to find how who assisted her in winning back the title, check out Fightful's article on the topic.
