WALTER gets another chance to be featured on TakeOver in a defense of his NXT UK Championship.
Originally set for today's episode of NXT UK, WALTER will now face Ilja Dragunov at NXT TakeOver 36, taking place on Sunday, August 22, 2021, exactly one day after this year's SummerSlam event.
WALTER and Ilja Dragunov engaged in a classic bout on October 29, 2020. This was one of the first majorly touted bouts since NXT UK was forced to move to BT Sport studio in London, England due to the global pandemic. Before the match could happen this week, it was announced last week that WALTER had suffered a hand injury, an injury that is reportedly legitimate.
Thus far, this is the first properly announced match for the SummerSlam weekend event but during the most recent set of tapings, the official main event was set in stone. If you would like to learn what that match will be, click here.
