Io Shirai has been dethroned.
Raquel Gonzalez captured the NXT Women's Championship at NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver, defeating Io Shirai in the main event. Shirai pulled out all the stops, jumping off the stage skull and hitting her trademark moontaul, which Gonzalez kicked out of.
The finish saw Gonzalez hit a big clothesline and her chokeslam/powerbomb combo to put Shirai away.
This marks Gonzalez' first reign as NXT Women's Champion. She is a former NXT Women's Tag Team Champion.
