The NXT Women's Championship will be on the line on next week's episode of NXT.
NXT announced that Io Shirai will get to defend her belt against former champion Rhea Ripley. The match had been built for weeks with tonight having a Prime Target special look at both Shirai and Ripley. The last time both women shared the ring in a title match was back at NXT TakeOver: In Your House when Shirai won the belt in a triple threat match involving Charlotte Flair.

Also announced for next week is NXT Champion Finn Balor addressing his recovery and the status of his title. Balor has been out for weeks after he revealed that his surgery was a success on Twitter to repair the broken jaw that he suffered during his match against Kyle O'Reilly at NXT TakeOver 31.
