A new No. 1 contender to Io Shirai's NXT Women's Championship and a new match for TakeOver XXX is revealed.
Opening tonight's episode of NXT, Dakota Kai defeated Rhea Ripley to become the new No. 1 contender to Shirai's title. With the win, the match between Shirai and Kai for the title is set for TakeOver, taking place on August 22. Kai picked up the victory after Mercedes Martinez interfered in the match by attacking Ripley. After the match, Martinez continued attacking Ripley.

Shirai has held the title since June when she defeated Ripley and Charlotte Flair in a triple threat match.
