Oba Femi comments on several dream matches and potentially retiring John Cena later this year.

Femi is the current NXT Champion and during his time on the brand has taken out some of the top stars on the show to keep his title, including the likes of Trick Williams, Je’Von Evans and more. However, he does have his eyes on several main roster stars and legends that he wants to wrestle before his career

While speaking to Going Ringside in a new interview, Oba Femi was asked about several potential dream matches, starting with Gunther. Oba noted that he would like the match, but he would have to want the match.

“I am, it has to be for the right reasons. Not just because the fans said so. I have to want to fight Gunther.
He has to want to fight me. There has to be a good reason. There has to be a good cause. It can’t just happen because they… Because fans say it’s a dream match.”

Oba was then asked if he would want to retire John Cena from the ring, with Oba noting that he would like to retire him.

“If I could catch John Cena… I’ll put him out, I’ll show him the door, he’s on the way out, so watch your step, you know? I would. CM Punk would be another good one.”

Femi was then asked further about the Punk matchup, and how it would be a battle of styles.

“Big man, different style. Smaller guy, but very experienced, and he’s carved out his own move set, and he’s well recognized within the wrestling ecosystem, and so am I. So those are the interesting scenarios. It’s limitless what we can do.”

Femi was then asked about fighting Randy Orton, noting that he would retire Randy too.

“I would definitely fight Randy. Just feel sorry for Randy, his back. I’ll show him the door too. It’s about time. I grew up watching those guys. I think they’ve been on top for a very long time and I think enough is enough. I think it’s time for the new crop of superstars to rise up to the top.”

Trick Williams recently also had an interview with Going Ringside, where he noted that Femi is ‘the man’. You can read more about that here.
