Odyssey Jones Discusses His Goals Upon NXT Return

Odyssey Jones is ready for the comeback.

Jones returned to NXT television on last Tuesday's episode of NXT, bringing the party to Malik Blade & Edris Enofé after they failed to win the NXT Tag Team Titles. Jones suffered a ruptured patellar tendon in January and has not competed on NXT television since December 2021.

He is set to return to the ring on the November 1 episode of NXT.

Speaking on Wrestling the Rap Game podcast before NXT Halloween Havoc, Jones discussed his goals upon returning.

"My first goal, and this is always, enjoy the moment and have fun. If I don't appreciate and overlook what I'm going through and what I'm in, that's when it's all a waste. That's when you see people angry and bothered. Have fun. The other goal, obviously, stay healthy. If I was healthy this whole year, it would be a completely different year. Not saying it would be better or worse with or without me, but different. We could create different stories and do different things. One, enjoy it. Two, stay healthy. Three, get the people going. Do my job. Make magic. Have fun. Share the energy, have that reverberate in the stands in NXT. I'm excited," he said.

When asked if he was looking to go after the NXT Championship, Jones replied, "Everyone wants to go for the top title. I just want the opportunity. Odyssey Jones is truth and I'm good. I can be something special in this business. The title is nice, but I feel the person makes the title. You give me whatever and I'll do the best I can do with it to make it the best it can be. Do my job."

Jones' opponent has not been named for Tuesday's NXT. Jones was in the finals of the 2021 NXT Breakout Tournament, losing to Carmelo Hayes.

Fightful will have live coverage of NXT beginning at 8 p.m. ET on Tuesday.
