Orange County Florida Wants WrestleMania In 2023 And 2025

Orange County wants WrestleMania to come back.

Last year, Orlando hosted WrestleMania 33 and now Orange County Florida (where Orlando is county seat) is allocating money to try to lure WWE back for another WrestleMania event. A county government committee unanimously voted to use 1 million dollars in an attempt to get WWE back in 2023 or 2025. Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs spoke about how her opinion of WWE changed after seeing WrestleMania 33.

“I didn’t think that was my thing. I didn't realize it was theater and gymnastics and humor. Oh, my gosh, the humor. I have to admit I had a lot of fun," said Jacobs

WrestleMania 33 was held at the Camping World Stadium which is an open stadium that held a reported 75,000 people back in 2017. The county is also allocating 2 million dollars to attract the Special Olympics in the future. The WrestleMania and Special Olympics plan is part of the same initiative to drive up tourism and economic growth.

The rest of Mayor Jacobs words can be seen in the article at the Orlando Sentinel.
