Ortiz assured Page that WWE would give him a call.
It has been just over a year since Ethan Page arrived to WWE and debuted on their NXT program by ambushing then-NXT Champion Trick Williams.
Page had finished up with All Elite Wrestling after a three-year run with the company. Page's move to WWE was discussed by Ortiz during a recording of the Johnny I Pro Show.
Ortiz spoke about his friendship with Page and the group chat they have with Eddie Kingston. When Page finished up with AEW, Ortiz assured him that WWE would call. Ortiz added that he's proud of Page and proud of Ricky Saints as well.
“Sick (to see Ethan Page’s rise in WWE). I talk to him almost every day so I have a group chat. It’s me, Ethan Page and Eddie Kingston, and it’s the one group chat that I actually answer. I’m a part of so many group chats, but then I’ll just read and kind of just whatever. But, very cool, man, because I’ve had insider knowledge for a long time. So it’s very cool, and when he left AEW, he was just like, 'I don’t know what I’m gonna do,' right? And I remember keep telling him, I was like, ‘WWE’s gonna call up. For sure. It’s a no-brainer, bro. It’s gonna happen,’ and then he got the call and he was like, ‘Bro, you were right!’ And I was like, ‘Very cool, man’ and now he’s the man over there. North American Champion, killing it. Him and Ricky (Saints) as well. Really cool. I’m also cool with Ricky, so it’s cool seeing my friends just do good pro wrestling. Ethan is like a classic heel, so it’s very cool, very awesome.”
Ortiz returned to in-ring action in March 2025 after being sidelined since January 2024. He underwent surgery for a torn pectoral muscle and then had to undergo a second surgery for a hematoma.
