Otis Says He Was Surprised To Find Out He Was Winning Money In The Bank Ladder Match

Many who tuned in to see Otis win the Money In The Bank ladder match were surprised at the end result, including Otis himself.

In what can be described as the most unusual of ladder matches, Otis defeated AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan, Aleister Black, Rey Mysterio and King Corbin to become Mr. Money In The Bank on May 10. In an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Otis said he was surprised when he found out he was going to be the winner.

“I found out and was like, ‘What?’” said Otis. “When the briefcase got into my hands, that’s when it felt real. I remember watching the first ‘Money in the Bank’ match at WrestleMania, and it blows my mind that I woke up right next to it this morning.”

When talking about his fellow competitors, Otis said it was a lot of fun working with them, even in one instance in the match where Bryan was hitting Otis with the "Yes Kicks." But now that he has the briefcase, he could potentially become a future world champion and believes that he has what it takes to be a main event player in WWE.

“Those guys are all-pro, and it was so much fun working with them,” said Otis. “I loved Daniel Bryan kicking me right in the chest. Once we all got together, the ideas were flowing... I’ve heard I’m just a big man comedy wrestler. I’ll admit it, I’m always the loud one in the room. But when it’s time for business, it’s time for business. Can I be in the main event? Let’s do it. If I sink, then that’s on me. I love wrestling, and I’m going to show people that I can do it.”
