WWE women's wrestler Paige had neck surgery yesterday, and based on her comments on social media, the operation was a successful one.
As reported previously, Paige had been injured for several months and announced last month that she would need surgery to repair the damage, and that recovery time would keep her sidelined from the ring for six to seven months.
Posting on Twitter following the operation, Paige thanked her fellow WWE grappler Natalya for coming to visit, later adding that the operation "went well" although the hernia that was repaired "was bigger than expected."
It has been a tumultuous year for Paige, who has been suspended twice in recent months for violation of the WWE wellness policy. She is still serving that second suspension, which lasts 60 days. Her significant other, Alberto Del Rio, left WWE in September after his own WWE welless violation and dissatisfaction over the way he was being used creatively by the promotion. This past weekend, at the WWE Aniversario event in Puerto Rico, Paige and Del Rio got engaged when Paige proposed to him in the middle of the ring.
