Pat McAfee Added To ESPN Monday Night Countdown

Pat McAfee is returning to Monday nights. Just not with WWE.

ESPN announced that McAfee will be part of Monday Night Countdown, which airs before Monday Night Football.

From ESPN:

ESPN & NFL Network stack Mondays with on-site studio programming
Monday Night Countdown returns as the two-hour Monday Night Football pregame show (6–8 p.m., ESPN), and for the first time, will be available on NFL Network this season. Host Scott Van Pelt is back alongside returning analysts Kelce and Marcus Spears, with new additions Pat McAfee and Jason McCourty. Additionally, Warner will periodically join Monday Night Countdown on-site for select segments throughout the season.

Van Pelt, who has hosted the Monday Night Football pregame show since 2023, continues in the role while also hosting SportsCenter with Scott Van Pelt following each Monday Night Football game. ESPN senior NFL insider Adam Schefter will continue to report breaking news, while reporter Michelle Beisner-Buck will provide in-depth storytelling through interviews and features.

The show’s core four former NFL players — Kelce, Spears, McCourty and McAfee — bring a combined 43 NFL seasons, two Super Bowl championships, nine Pro Bowl selections and seven First-Team All-Pro honors. Together, they pair championship pedigrees and decorated playing careers with distinct personalities and insightful analysis. McAfee’s new role expands his prominent presence across ESPN, where he hosts The Pat McAfee Show and serves as an analyst on College GameDay Built by The Home Depot. McCourty joins the cast following his extended role as an ESPN NFL analyst, which was announced this summer.

McAfee was previously a commentator on WWE Raw. He claimed he left the wrestling business after WrestleMania 42 when Randy Orton lost to Cody Rhodes.
