Clark has mostly been out of the public eye since he was released by WWE back on May 20, 2021. Before his release, Clark went through turmoil during his time in NXT as he was accused on multiple occasions of having inappropriate contact with minors. Despite investigating the accusations while Clark was still employed, Triple H stated on numerous occasions that WWE "didn't find anything."

Mike Johnson of PWinsider notes that Clark was previously arrested on August 20 for First Degree Battery and Trespassing on property after a warning. These offenses are first degree misdemeanors. Clark subsequently bonded out and pled not guilty. His arraignment hearing was scheduled for September 28, but it is now listed as canceled.

According to bail records, Tehuti Miles, known to WWE fans as Ashante ‘Thee’ Adonis, assisted in helping with Clark's bail for two separate charges, putting up $200 for the trespassing charge and $1000 for the battery charge.

Clark's last match in NXT took place on December 23, 2020.

Earlier this year, Dream commented on his release and stated that he believed he was affecting WWE's bottom line.
