Paul Heyman Believes New Jack Influenced Grand Theft Auto Developers

Paul Heyman talks New Jack’s addition to WWE 2K25.

The Fearless DLC pack is available today, July 23rd and will feature several additions to the WWE 2K25 roster. One name that features in the pack is ECW legend New Jack. Before the DLC was released, a developer confirmed that New Jack would have several unique features related to his addition.

While speaking to Metro in a new interview, Paul Heyman spoke about New Jack and his influence on gaming, stating his belief that New Jack influenced video game culture, calling it a moment of completion.

“This is a moment of completion in the entire video game industry, you cannot deny New Jack’s influence in sports entertainment/pro wrestling culture, nor should you deny his influence on video games. Most of the people that are writing the codes that then become the video games were ECW or WWE fans, and I mean, are you telling me that those who make Grand Theft Auto weren’t influenced by New Jack? Come on!”

Heyman continued, stating that including New Jack in the DLC was a fantastic idea to pay tribute to the ECW legend.

“Oh my God! What a fantastic idea to pay tribute to someone that has been such an influence on not only the culture of pro wrestling, but on the culture of video games, because of the influence that we’ve had on those who write the games.”
