Paul Heyman gives his take on Brock Lesnar retiring from UFC and how that could impact Brock's future.
The advocate of Brock Lesnar, Paul Heyman announced via Twitter that Mr. Money In The Bank Brock Lesnar has cashed in his contract for a Universal Championship match against Seth Rollins and that match will happen at some point during tomorrow's episode of RAW. Brock made his return to WWE at the Money In The Bank pay-per-view and it was his first appearance since he lost the Universal Title to Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 35.
In the time in between Lesnar's loss at WrestleMania and his return, it was stated by UFC President Dana White that Brock Lesnar had retired from UFC and Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer followed up on that and reported that UFC and Lesnar did not meet at a price and that led to Lesnar's retirement. Paul Heyman was interviewed by CBS Local Sports and feels that Brock's retirement from the octagon only makes him more available for WWE and added that if handled correctly, people will always be interested in Brock Lesnar.
"I think the public is willing to pay to see Brock Lesnar, as long as Brock Lesnar is presented in a manner that entices the audience to be emotionally invested in the story being told. That?s whether it?s in WWE or UFC. So, Brock Lesnar?s retirement in UFC only makes him more available for WWE if the circumstances are right." Paul Heyman expressed. "In terms of Brock?s marketability to the general public, I think the general public has always been aware of what a unique athlete Brock Lesnar is and how rare it is to have the opportunity to see Brock Lesnar in action. It?s the equivalent of understanding the greatness of Michael Jordan while he was playing. It?s the equivalent of understanding the greatness of a Babe Ruth or Ty Cobb while they were playing. Roger Federer, while he?s playing at his peak. Bjorn Borg. People who not only change the game, but dominate in a fashion that no one else could dominate. That?s Brock Lesnar. He?s not going to do this forever. He?s very picky about the box office appeal that he has. So, when Brock Lesnar is willing to appear, it?s a magnificent opportunity for any fan to see someone whose appearances are booked out judiciously so that there are only a limited number of times you will have in your lifetime to see Brock Lesnar."
The Wild Card rule is in effect in WWE and by way of that rule, Alexa Bliss will be appearing on Tuesday's SmackDown Live to host A Moment Of Bliss with the current SmackDown Live Women's Champion Bayley.
