Wight has been a pro wrestler for around 30 years, with a career spanning several different companies. In addition to that, he has also been widely successful, winning upwards of 20 championships across his career.
While speaking to Good Day Live in a new interview, Paul Wight spoke about his legacy in wrestling, noting that if he realized all he has done in the industry, he might ‘get a case of the lazies.’
“Yeah, I’ve been around a long time. When God said, ‘let there be light,’ I hit the switch. (You have 23 championships and seven world titles.) Is that what I have? Somebody smarter than me is doing the math. It’s funny, I’ve never been a… guy that looks, oh, this, that, this championship. I’m a what’s today, what’s tomorrow guy. I think that’s why even at my age now, still competing, still having fun, still making an impact in the locker room and helping the younger talent, helping the company. That’s where my fun’s at. I think if I sat back and realized all the stuff I’ve done, I might get a case of the lazies.”
Elsewhere in the same interview, Wight teased a ‘big secret’ about tonight’s edition of AEW Dynamite. You can read more about that here.
