Paul Wight Says He Has A 'Couple Years' Left In AEW, Hopes To Be Back In The Ring 'Real Soon'

Paul Wight joined AEW in February 2021, signing a long-term contract with the company. Wight joined the promotion as an in-ring competitor and commentator for AEW Dark: Elevation.

Wight has only wrestled a handful of matches in AEW due to various injuries, but he still plans on returning to the ring as he says he has a "couple" of years left on his contract.

"Working hard, training hard to get back in the ring, which will hopefully happen real soon. I've had a hip replacement and just got a knee replacement done in August, which sounds like the end of an athlete's career, but modern technology, I'll tell you, I feel better joint-wise than I've felt the past 15 years. Now, it's about getting the muscle stronger and having a bit more fun. I have a couple years left in AEW, for sure, signed a nice healthy contract when I came over and I plan on making good on that contract in AEW for Tony Khan and myself," he said while appearing on Deuce and Mo.

Wight previously commented that he was hopeful to be back in the ring in March.

Wight hasn't wrestled since March 2022 and it is unknown when he will return to the ring.
