Paul Wight Says, In His Prime, A Match With Kenny Omega Could Have 'Torn The Roof Off'

Paul Wight wishes he could have wrestled Kenny Omega in his prime.

In his prime, Paul Wight wrestled some of the biggest names ever in a wrestling ring. He started his career in a match with Hulk Hogan for the WCW World Championship. He would go on to wrestle Randy Savage, Sting, Ric Flair, Lex Luger, Steve Austin, The Rock, Triple H, Undertaker, Kane, Randy Orton, John Cena, and so many more wrestlers throughout the decades of his time as a full-time competitor.

Now in AEW, Wight is happily watching the next generation of wrestlers develop. Still, he wishes he could have wrestled former AEW wrestler Kenny Omega in his prime, as he told Bill Apter of Sportskeeda WrestleBinge in a recent interview.

"In my prime? Kenny Omega. Just because I like what Kenny does with people when Kenny has the right opponent, especially if me as a heel and Kenny as a babyface, I think at a certain point in time, we could have literally torn the freaking roof off. Kenny has that drive, he has that fight, and he has several gears. We talk in wrestling a lot of times about shifting gears in a match, showing desperation, showing drama through your work, not through your mouth, and that's one thing that Kenny always brings to the table, is that energy and that fight to win. For me, as a heel, a lot of times I love fighting people because it makes my job easier."

Elsewhere in the interview, he praised Tony Khan's leadership skills. Read more here.
