Pete Dunne Beats Joaquin Wilde, Advances In WWE Speed Number One Contender's Tournament On 8/21 WWE Speed

Pete Dunne advances to the semifinals.

On the August 21st episode of WWE Speed, Pete Dunne and Joaquin Wilde clashed in a quarterfinal match in the Number One Contender’s Tournament. They battled back and forth, and Wilde took control early on. Dunne rallied and caught Wilde with a powerbomb. Wilde responded with a powerbomb of his own. He rocked Dunne with a superkick and later countered the Bitter End into a DDT. Wilde countered the Bitter End again, but Dunne evaded a 450 splash and bit the Bitter End for the win.

With the win, Dunne advanced to the semifinals, where he will face Je’Von Evans.

Wilde previously beat Axiom to advance to the next round while Dunne defeated Julius Creed. Evans advanced to the quarterfinals by defeating Ashante “Thee” Adonis. He then advanced to the semifinals when the match between Austin Theory and Montez Ford ended in a time-limit draw.
