Pez Whatley Invitational Announced For September 19
The Pez Whatley Invitational will take place on September 19 from the TWE Arena in Red Bank, TN.
The event will be produced by TWE Chattanooga, ASE Wrestling, ACTIO Wrestling, and PRODUCE Wrestling.

ANNOUNCE WITH PERMISSION OF PEZ WHATLEY JR: THE PEZ WHATLEY INVITATIONAL
An 8 seed technical wrestling tournament to pay homage to one of the legends of Southeast Wrestling ‘Pistol’ Pez Whatley on September 19 at world famous Bud Higdon TWE Arena in Red Bank TN.
CHATTANOOGA, TN, 1951 — Pezevan “Pistol Pez” Whatley is born. A pioneer for celebrated black athletes in the professional wrestling industry. Before turning pro, Pez was the first black wrestler EVER at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
Becoming a craftsmen and trainer near the end of his career where he coached at the world famous WCW Power Plant, Pez is the standard of excellence in the technical field of wrestling. TWE Chattanooga, Action (ATL, GA) ASÉ (Charlotte, NC) and Orange Crush have officially joined forces to present a first of its kind tournament, pushing some of the greatest technicians in the Southeast for the bragging rights of winning the FIRST EVER PEZ WHATLEY INVITATIONAL.
Germane Barnes director of Studio Barnes and the M. Architecture Program at the University of Miami has created brand new art pieces in promotion of this historic event. The Pez will be live on Saturday, September 19th 8:00 PM in MyAEW
“The Pez” seeks to crown the best technician around and will feature the following participants: Jonathan Gresham, Labron Kozone, Darius Lockhart, Eel O’Neal, Joseph Alexander, Suge D, Jordan Blade, and Darian Bengston
As well as appearances from Oni King, Corinne Joy, Tim Bosby, and Remi Reade.
