- Seth Rollins was looking for his IC Title rematch on Raw, but Triple H informed him that automatic title rematches are a thing of the past. You can view the entire segment between Rollins, Triple H and Shane McMahon in the video above.
- Instead of Rollins getting a title shot, a battle royal was held to determine the No. 1 Contender.
- Apollo Crews won the battle royal and challenged Dean Ambrose for the IC Title later in the night. Crews came up short despite a valiant effort.
- ICYMI: Next week's episode of Raw is shaping up to be a big one with the returns of John Cena, Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman. On top of that, Alexa Bliss debuts her new talk show and The Revival face Chad Gable & Bobby Roode for the Raw Tag Team Titles.
- Natalya announced that she will be one of the 30 participants in the Royal Rumble. Following the announcement, she was laid out by Nia Jax and Tamina.
- The attack led to a tag team main event between Jax and Tamina against Natalya and Ronda Rousey.
- WWE superstars give their New Year's resolutions.
- Drew McIntyre defeated Dolph Ziggler in a cage match to open Raw. Backstage, Ziggler reflected on the loss and post-match beatdown.
- A much happier scene backstage included Bayley, Sasha Banks and Ember Moon celebrating their victory.
- It's been a rough couple of weeks for Baron Corbin.
